6.02 am - iPod Touch stuck in "Recovery Mode"
Does anyone know if there's a way to get my iPod Touch out of "Recovery Mode" without losing all of my settings?
I upgraded to 4.0.2 last night, and when it was finished the iPod screen when blank and wouldn't power on. iTunes reports that the iPod is in "Recovery Mode" and only gives me the option to "Restore" (thus losing all of my settings).
I know some of you have a lot more experience with iTunes/iPods than I do (I'm a fairly recent "convert"), so any suggestions you might have would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
UPDATE: It's working again, but I had to reset it to Factory Defaults and then Restore the last backup. Oddly enough, that did restore all of my settings, but it lost all of my music and apps (all of which I had to manually reload).
It seems to be working fine now (*fingers crossed*).

6.15 am - An open letter...
Dear Television,
While I applaud your recent efforts to create more realistic, fully-dimensional characters, please note that there's more to being morally ambiguous than just arbitrarily shifting between "good" and "evil".
Conflicted heroes and villains should still have agendas and goals, and merely having them randomly switch sides for no reason doesn't make them more complex and interesting. It just makes them come across as confusing and possibly mentally ill.
Please do keep trying though.
Sincerely,
A Viewer

4.32 am - At the risk of venturing into tin-foil hat territory...
The more I see of the few interviews that Sarah Palin has done, the more I suspect that the McCain Campaign may try to come up with some excuse to cancel the upcoming VP debate on Thursday.
To that end, I present the following poll:
What do you think the McCain Campaign will do about the VP Debate?
(poll will remain open until debate time Thursday)

It'll only be available for free online viewing until midnight tonight. It's also available via iTunes, and will eventually be downloadable from the main site. A DVD (with extras) and a soundtrack CD will also be avilable, at some point in the (hopefully near) future.

7.05 pm - I'm a bad LJ friend...
Over the past several weeks, I seem to have fallen into the same pattern:
1. Get terribly behind reading LJ.
2. Read through the backlog of entries on my Friends list, bookmarking entries to go back and comment on later.
3. Lather, rinse, repeat.
As a result, I never seem to get around to the actual commenting part (other than the occasional, very brief reply).
I promise I'm not ignoring you, and I am reading your posts... eventually.
